Double Sided Butyl Jointing Tape

Butyl Jointing Tape is a preformed high performance polyisobutylene (PIB) based sealing tape with enhanced
adhesive characteristics for more demanding applications where there are requirements for a high degree
of bonding. It is available in single strand or multi-lane rolls.

APPLICATIONS:
Butyl Jointing Tape is used for bonding & sealing applications such as cavity trays & polythene membranes. This
product has been developed primarily for the bonding of more difficult materials such as polyethylene
sheets used in DPM & DPC applications.
This product has a multitude of other uses where joints need to be formed to seal against air and water
ingress in many markets such as, DIY for sealing bath & shower splash trims, Telecoms, Automotive,
Glazing, Roofing & Construction. The product is cost effective, non toxic and requires no tools to apply
& is simple & easy to use.

Butyl Jointing Tape should be applied to surfaces at a temperature range of between +4 and +40oC. For best
performance the surfaces should be clean, dry, and grease free. The product should be unwound and
lightly pressed into position leaving the release paper in place. On forming the joint the release paper is
removed and the closing surface pushed firmly in place, pressure applied along the length of the joint and
mechanically fixed if necessary.
